More Photoshop/Flash experiments! WOO! This one is pretty light on the tweeking, but I still like it. Its sort of based off a little inside joke i guess you could say. Sweet sweet bird calls.

I would also like to dedicate this little wonder to my always delightful friend Casey Leonard, who's bird call cannot be matched by mortal men. You can find his blog link on my page here, check it out. KAA!

Here are a few sketches from the other day, new treatments for the mole I had a few roughs of a while back, just felt like revisiting him again. Been bouncing around between lots of different things lately. Maybe its time for a little more focus? Meh. I like how these turned out, so I want to share, enjoy the wonderment.

Mmmmwahahahaha... I was moving, long time no posty. I've been having some computer issues, and lost many many files, but not all hope is lost. I have here a little number that started as a doodle and turned into something so much more. Now my poopy cupcake of joyness is fully rendered and formatted in a convenient 4x6 format for easy framing. He was created as a bathroom decoration of sorts. If you'd like a print, email me, I have a much nicer high-res copy I can print from.

Also, I actually used Photoshop! WOW!!! Its been a while, but I wanna do some pieces with more "traditional" looking backgrounds and vector characters. A pseudo-cel look if you will, and this guy seemed like the perfect candidate for a little trial and error. Its all warm up for a series of pieces I mentioned before. New experiments are already looking better and I'll post some more stuff soon.

If there is one thing I have a lot of experience with, its sketchy people. I don't know what the hell it is about me, but I seem to have a sketchy-human-magnetism penetrating the core of my being. They just lock on to me, its awful. Or is it wonderful? Yes, it does make for good stories, and good drawings too maybe?

Why didn't this occur to me sooner? I've decided to start a little pet project, based on all the sketchy people I have dealt with. Three come to mind. This is the Cheeseburglar, and a full story will accompany her final portrait. I think I need to exaggerate this way more, but I like the pose. I am also strongly considering the two rehab clinic escapees vomiting on the subway, and ponytail guy too. There are so many to choose from, like Sockmaster... I miss him. I only wish I had the time to tell all the stories, but it must wait. So, good idea or not?

It was my friend Steph's birthday so what better gift than the gift of a drawing? I can't think of too many better things... So anyhow, I liked it so decided to post it up here. Enjoy.

Been too long again, so here is some more blog-ness. So I went out into the public a week or two ago. I was bored, and nobody was around, I was quite solo. So, I decided to go to were I could find the most rich display of humanity that NH has to offer... the bar at T.G.I.Fridays. Time to draw...

It was really odd, because I found that the most interesting people were wearing hats. Maybe its the hats that were actually interesting, or maybe its just my brain being odd. I like hats, a lot, but I can only wear snow caps, otherwise I look dumb. Maybe its my hat envy... so much hat envy...

I really special thing was the drunk car salesmen who paid me $$$ and beers for crappy drawings... oh how I wish I had copies of those doodles. This apparently only happens at T.G.I.Fridays, so far at least...

This last one was after the free beers... the beers maybe me forget my need for more hats. Beer will do that.

Pushing character design, good idea indeed. I felt although the mole I had made for the rabbit short was to generic. Some how, I had visually convinced a fair amount of people that it was a mole, but I wasn't satisfied with the look, at all. I didn't scream mole, so I set out to do some new takes, here we are, and I like were its going way more...

Share your thoughts please, I <3 feedback and it can be hard to find sometimes...

Ok, so color, I like having fun with color, and although this isn't the most amazing piece, its a big deal for me. I haven't been using color enough, and doing this little piece was really really fun! I feel sort of addicted to color at this moment and want to do some more. It just started as a doodle in flash... and then this happened. Goodtimes.

So I was watching MST3K and the glory of "MANOS Hands of Fate" and not to many people have caught my interest quiet like the character Torgo. He's very disfunctional, I won't even try to explain him, it'd take to long. Basically if you haven't punished yourself by watching Manos, you need to. So I did a little drawing of Torgo and the trophy little girl from my memory, although its kinda fuzzy, It's hard to not block out memories of this piece of cinema hell.

Thought I've been drawing too many males/animals... time for some ladies! Lil' space girls, cuz there fun and I have jet-pack envy...

More hamster stoke is never a bad thing... and look they're all in love and crap, awh... I want to do more characters interacting and I do love drawing the hamster vikings. See how they tango!

And a quick color treatment of an older hamster drawing. Still not sure if this is how I want them to look finished. I want to try some more straightforward approaches, more traditional I guess. This look might be problematic for animating, guess its a matter of what I am willing to put up with when it comes time for clean up.

Sometimes I think back. Back to a simpler time. College. Wait, that wasn't simple, it was stressful... but I had a lot of crazy ideas then. Maybe it was spending so much time with other whacked out animators/artists, it just breeds entertainment. I miss being in the studio with my peoples, its so inspiring. Anyhow, I reached back in my head and pulled out this old idea and did a total redesign. Its a crazy rabbit with a crack addiction and a severe amount of paranoia. He's cute... sorta.

Go crack rabbit!!! GO!!! I know you can win the race against your invisible enemies if you just try!!! I believe in you!!!

The animal kingdom is harsh. Its survival of the fittest, and few can outwit the cunning, elusive, and industrious mole. Especially crack head rabbits, they don't stand a chance. Pitchfork=failure. : (

Well yes, he is special. I'm doing some really rough storyboard/animatic stuff with him right now for a quick 20 second gag short. No story really, just him flailing like a muppet of fire with a pitchfork in his eye. Damn you mister mole, your a jerk.

Here is two other quick lil' doodles I did for fun. First more viking hamster, he cowers in fear at the site of his formidable foe! *formidable foe coming soon... not available in all areas.

AAAGGGHHH!!! Turtles fear gnomes because i said so. : p

MORE!!! I DEMAND MORE POSTINGS!!! I demand... ASTOUNDING HATS!!!

... okay, they're not all that astounding, but they are hats. HATS!!! I like hats... word.
OH CRAP PANTS I'M BACK!!! I missed you so mister interwebs!!! Now it happens to be Valentines Day! Feel this savage valentine's day card i made to bring my joy of halloween and zombies together with my lack of enthusiasm for valentine's day!

Oh and since its been a bit, don't miss out on my delightful holiday sketch of the enchanted x-mas gorilla! The only way i could get a moments peace on x-mas was if i was sketching... they know better than to bother me when i'm doodlin'...

... my aunt says i'm a good "doodler" but she is confused by my content. Well so am I. yep.

--->GIANT ONSLAUGHT OF SKETCHES COMING SOON!!! BEWARE!!!<---

Thought I'd throw up some sketches I got bouncin' around the ol' hard drive, lost of different stuff. Enjoy!

Firstly, here's a line up I did for a project at Soup2Nuts. We ended up going a very different direction with the final product, but I always really liked this look, oh well, can't win them all.

Bears!!!! BEARS!!!! ... yep, bears.

I don't know why but the bird on the left aways makes me think of Rodney Dangerfield... I don't even like Rodney Dangerfield... oh well

I was hoping to do an animation about a seagul and his extreme distaste for mayonaise. It went no were... but I ended up with some interesting drawings!

Badgers... they hide bouquets of flowers... no really.

Here are some museum drawings with excessive detail! YAY! I can be anal too! So much easier when the animals can't move, but a lot less interesting...
